DSL installation & setup With 10 years of experience of installing DSL for the major telephone company in the Houston area I have seen and helped cure about every problem that can occur in installation and/or setup of DSL service. Equipment won't load proper drivers, signal never gets to your computer, pages will not open after it is connected, frequent disconnects while on the WEB, had service but now it has stopped working, new hard drive and need to re-install. I do all of the above 25 to 35 times per day and either get complete success or have the REAL reason that it is happening so you know the truth. Successful setup or no charge!
Personal History I entered the Air Conditioning business in 1979 as a territory manager (salesman) with York Heating & Air Conditioning Company, a division of Borg-Warner Corp. My first computer experience came when York decided to use personal computers and customized software to help contractors size equipment & illustrate operating costs. (to sell the higher 7, 8 & 9 EER units) No, that's not a typo, it was EER prior to SEER. At that early time there were no computer super stores and department stores, discount or not did not sell computers or anything associated with them. This normally left us to sell a computer to the contractor first, before trying to sell any type of software. In 1994 I left the air conditioning business to work full time with contractors in improving record keeping and service planning. This eventually developed to working with complete computerized records for the business.
